Self-Referral

You are able to refer directly to Sunlight Psychology without a GP referral. This will involve paying the full-fee privately.

Medicare GP Referral

Each calendar year, you are able to access up to 10 subsidised sessions by obtaining a GP referral and Mental Health Care Plan. Please see your GP to discuss this option and bring the Care Plan to your first appointment. See associated fees and rebates below.

Medicare Helping Children With Autism Referral

If your child has a diagnosis of ASD prior to turning 13 years of age, your paediatrician can complete an Allied Health referral which will provide you 20 subsidised Allied Health sessions that can be used before your child turns 15 years of age.

National Disability Insurance Scheme

If you have an NDIS funding package, we are able to provide services under this scheme, providing you are Plan Managed or Self-Managed.

Private Health Rebates

We are able to provide therapy services that you can then claim a portion back through your private health fund. Please check directly with your provider as to your specific rebates, as this varies across health funds.

ATTENDANCE POLICY

Additional Information

Consistent attendance at appointments is part of helping you achieve your goals.  Your psychologist spends a substantial amount of time preparing for your appointment to ensure the best possible outcomes for you.

We ask that you only make appointments that you intend to keep. When you book, the session time is set aside and the fee attached to that session will also be yours, whether or not you choose to attend. If you do not attend, it is not possible to apply the Medicare rebate and the entire session fee will be charged.

If the appointment time is no longer suitable, it is important to let us know as soon as possible. To avoid paying the session fee you will need to let Admin know 24 business hours prior to your appointment. If your appointment is on a Monday, this means providing notice on the Friday before.

Alternatives to attending in person:

i) You can change your appointment to an online or telehealth session, or

ii) You can request that your psychologist use this time to write a report to a third party, fill in a form, or complete some research on your behalf.

If you suspect you/your child will be too unwell to attend your session the following day, then please err on the side of caution and reschedule your appointment, with more than 24 business hours notice.

If your appointment can be filled with another client on the waitlist, you will not be charged the session fee.
