Although Sunlight Psychology primarily offers psychological therapy and assessment to children, young people, and young adults, we also now have psychologists who provide psychological services to adults or parents working through their own needs.
Clients are supported across a range of areas, including depression, anxiety and fears, OCD, adjustment, behavioural issues, tics, sleep disturbance, youth eating disorders (including ARFID), relationship difficulties, substance misuse, trauma, ASD, ADHD, and gender identity/gender transition.
Sunlight psychologists work through a range of evidence-based therapeutic modalities, including Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR Therapy), Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, Solutions Focused Therapy,
Circle of Security, and Play Therapy.
Choice of therapy will depend on the background of the therapist, the needs of the client and the reason for coming to therapy. Your therapist will discuss this with you at your first appointment. Before commencing treatment, your psychologist will explain the approach, and develop a detailed, individualised treatment plan for you or your child.
